The area of Beukenhorst-West – located between the center of Hoofddorp and the public transport station – plays an important role in completing the ambition of being a future-proof and lively city. The objective, which is momentarily being realized, is to create an attractive hiking and cycling route from the city center via a renewed park, fruit gardens and tennis courts to Beukenhorst-West (and back). The goal is to transform Beukenhorst-West into a mixed urban area, with a further development of the public transport station into a junction that is up to the mark.

Amstel III is a large scale business park and office area in Amsterdam Zuidoost (the Southeast of Amsterdam) of approximately 250 hectares. It is situated between the Johan Cruijff ArenA, the Amsterdam UMC (university medical centre) location AMC, the rail line Amsterdam-Utrecht and the A2 highway. Metro stations Bullewijk and Holendrecht function as Amstel III’s gateways. The A9 highway runs through the centre of this area. Amstel III consists of two types of zones: a typical business park alongside the A2 highway where, amongst others, automotive companies are located, and a transformation area in the office zone. In the office zone, more houses are being built. No homes are to be added to the business park.
