Hyde Park is moving towards realisationPublished on 16-08-2018
Recently the agreement on the mainlines of the Hyde Park project has been signed between the municipality of Haarlemmermeer and Hyde Park b.v. Deputy mayors Marjolein Steffens-van de Water and Adam Elzakalai and project developers Snippe Projecten B.V. and IC Netherlands B.V. are excited about the next phase in the process.
On the 19th of July the city council of Haarlemmermeer agreed to the urban development plan, for the new development of the Beukenhorst-West area. The new residential district offers an implementation of the big housebuilding project, which is necessary both on a local level and for the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area. Hyde Park provides a lot of affordable residential space for among others: starters, small families and “empty nesters”. At least 20% will be social rent and 10% will be for sale for payable prices.
Project deputy mayor Adam Elzakalai states: “Hyde Park can become one of the most fantastic districts of the Netherlands. It will be innovative in many ways and moreover: Hyde Park will be the most mixed area of the Haarlemmermeer, where living, working, shopping and recreating all take place!”
According to expectations, the building of the first block will start in the last quarter of 2018. This block will consist of 237 dwellings and it will probably be completed at the end of 2020. In total about 3000 to 4000 houses can be built at Hyde Park, which will be completed around 2025.
