A new residential complex with 320 rental homes and an indoor public bicycle shed with space for 3,700 bicycle parking spaces will be realized in Sloterdijk-Centrum, near Sloterdijk station. Last week, Alliance Development and the Municipality of Amsterdam signed a cooperation agreement.

The 320 rental homes (social and middle segment) will be built on top of social and commercial facilities and a public bicycle shed with space for 3,700 bicycles. Construction of the (residential) building on the L-Midden site will start in mid-2022, completion will start in early 2025.

This joint project of the municipality of Amsterdam and the Alliance for Development makes an important contribution to the realization of a complete and inclusive, sustainable urban district with approximately 2,000 new homes in 2025, 20 minutes by bike from the city center.

Residential building
The Alliance will become the owner of the (residential) building of almost 60 meters high with 200 social and 120 medium-rent apartments and 1,700 m² of social and commercial facilities. Eddo Rats, director of the Amsterdam / Almere region: "With this development in Sloterdijk-Centrum, the Alliance is redefining its ambition to meet the great demand for affordable rental housing in Amsterdam."

Public bicycle shed
The municipality of Amsterdam will become the owner of the public bicycle parking facility with 3,700 indoor bicycle parking spaces and will collaborate with ProRail, NS and the Amsterdam Transport Region. In this way, sufficient high-quality indoor bicycle parking spaces are provided around the Public Transport junction of Sloterdijk station.
